Ashleela???? Ramleela

Just came back after watching #Ramleela. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's trademark styled elaborate sets create drama.. well, looks like he has recycled few from his earlier films. The tone of the film is very confusing..Gujarati or Hindi..modern or ancient. There is a Devdas hangover with Bengali Dhoona and DurgaPuja kind of festivities in rural Gujarat. Yes I spotted some Chhau dancers of Odisha as well..

Hanji, its a story of a progressive, sexy, despo Gujarati damsel who is seeking 'love'...from a hot bod hero who shows off his six packs to all the drooling Rajadi n Sanadi women. The Gujarati cholis look lovely I must say and so do the tattoos and the film has showcased it well. Even on Deepika... surprise! surprise!! In fact if the hero was called Ash the movie would have lived up to its name "ASHLEELA".  I did read some thanks for some adaptation from Shakespare's Romeo n Juliet. Sorry...well I want to say that sorry to Shakespare.. :( Sob sob... I think, I saw him crying in one frame of the movie...

Interestingly, this place in Gujarat has unlimited stock of bullets like Wasseypur. Men n women n those in between.... everyone expresses their emotion through bullets..love, happiness, frustration, anger, excitement... Police does not know of it. Army does not know of it. Forget it... its a fiction. But what the hell was entertaining???? I don't know of it either.. hahaha..

P.S: Don't go by the name Ramleela or UA certificate and take your kids along. This movie won't serve any purpose even if it means imparting some sex-education. One of my daughter's friends saw the movie and said it was 'Porn"... poor child.. I can imagine her state.

Warning:  It's a movie for people fond of Pop-porn not just pop-corn... so enter at your on risk. The star ratings and revenue figures are no guarantee of a good film.
